Interview with Thomas Oven

(1) Hey there. Thank you for joining Big Bells Records. Can you tell us something about yourself? Where do you live, since when are you producing music and kinds of stuff like that?

Thanks for having me! My name is Tom and I'm based in Manchester at the moment. I only got into dance music during lockdown and very quickly started DJing and producing after one of my friends showed me! Progressive house really appealed to me because of how easy it is to get lost in, and I find that the pads and synths make it so much more immersive than other sub-genres of house music.

(2) Now, we would like to know about your future plans. What are your next events, releases, podcast-guest shows something and other interesting information?

I've got four tracks that are pretty much ready to go but it's always hard to know when they're totally ready! I only moved to Manchester in October so I've been spending a lot of time (some would say too much time) exploring their underground scene in the last few months, which has definitely shaped my production a bit as you'll see soon!

Interview with DJ Harith

(1) Hey there. Thank you for joining Big Bells Records. Can you tell us something about yourself? Where do you live, since when are you producing music and kinds of stuff like that?

Hey! I'm Harith Kavishka, a producer and DJ hailing from Sri Lanka. In late 2024, I relocated to Dubai to start a new chapter. My journey with music started when I was 9 years old, and from that moment, I quickly fell in love with it. My passion for music took a new turn when I discovered Electronica, and that was the point I knew I was hooked for life. From then on, music became an inseparable part of my existence, and I began dreaming of producing it myself. However, life had different plans, and I ended up behind the console. I mainly focus on creating an experimental deep progressive house, progressive techno, progressive trance, and dark ambient. When I'm in a more peaceful mood, I enjoy downtempo and deep ambient music. I like to keep things fresh for my listeners, often surprising them with quirky rolling bass lines and unexpected switches in style. There's nothing quite like the feeling of watching a dance floor connect with my music – it's an experience that inspires me as both a producer and DJ.

(2) How do you find your inspiration, who are your favorite DJs and producers, and what is your favorite music label?

My first and most significant inspiration comes from my Uncle, Hasith, who’s a retro DJ in Sri Lanka. Growing up, I was exposed to a wide variety of genres through his tapes and CDs, which had a massive impact on my musical journey. As I got older, I was inspired by artists like Vengaboys, Tiesto, Sven Vath, Richie Hawtin, Victor Ruiz, Eric Prydz, Sasha, Jeremy Olander, Subandrio, and Nishan Lee. These artists really shaped my love for electronic music. As for my favorite music labels, I’ve always admired Onedotsixtwo, Bedrock Records, Meanwhile, and Balkan Connection. Of course, Big Bells Digital is also a label that I hold in high regard and am excited to be a part of. Each of these labels has its own unique sound and vibe, and they all push the boundaries of electronic music in exciting ways.

Interview with PSYNID3

(1) Hey there. Thank you for joining Big Bells Records. Can you tell us something about yourself? Where do you live, since when are you producing music and kinds of stuff like that?

Hello Big Bells! First of all, it's great to catch up & I hope you're doing well. Talking about myself, I'm a Sri Lankan-born Progressive House Music Producer/DJ who is based in both Sri Lanka & Europe. I currently live in Panadura, Sri Lanka which is minutes away from the capital. Further, I was exposed to music as an artist back in 2013. But I joined forces with Progressive House music back in 2020 as a DJ & slowly experimented with progressive house tunes and currently I've released around a dozen of progressive house music under my name! :D

(2) Now, we would like to know about your plans. What are your next events, releases, podcast-guest shows something and other interesting information?

Well, I've quite a bit of private gigs in upcoming weeks and also some underground events from different paths of the island. In addition to that, other than my upcoming remix with you, I've some music to be released, by myself and some collaborations with my best friend Harith.
